“Aged Care must focus on quality of life” LASA CEO

Did you get The West Australian newspaper last week?

Leading Aged Services Australia (LASA) CEO, Sean Rooney, shared an opinion piece published in The West Australian last weekend to highlight the importance of quality of life in a transformed aged care system. Sean, quoted our Managing Director, Hayley sharing a case story about one of her music therapy clients.

“He returned to his joke-telling self, with improved voice clarity and projection through music therapy. I’ll always remember him and it was such a privilege to be able to offer something meaningful that improved his quality of life right up until his final moment”. Hayley

Whilst having clinical goals for each individual is important and a critical part of the therapeutic treatment cycle, no matter what those goals are improving quality of life is at the core of every music therapy session and service Attuned Health facilitate.

We hope the Australian government will soon put quality of life at the core of our aged care system too.

Reach out to discuss how you too, can use music to improve quality of life for your aged care clients through our embedding music into care services.
